Can't remotely compare the two. Lamar is a rapper; Drake is an auto-tuned Degrassi gimp.

Drake has about 0.001% of the artistic ability and creativity of Kendrick. To pimp a butterfly is an avant garde jazz album with rapping over it. Easily one of the most artistic mainstream albums of the last 5 years.

Dr. Dre, Warren G, Tupac, Snoop. Those are rappers. Not Lamar. But honestly I quit listening to music like 4 years ago. I can?t tell you a hit song in any genre on today?s charts.

Lamar is also from Compton, and is actually extremely knowledgeable and respectful of his musical influences. He samples jazz and blues a ton. Also, as a lyricist, he's pretty much the only guy outside of Emimen that is a "classicist", in terms of being a true M.C.

I mean, only 13 year olds care about chart topping songs. I listen to new music daily, probably average seeing more than a live performance per week, and 99.99% of it never even sniffs the charts.
