Let's get something straight- Ole Miss was put on probation because they beat BAmmer twice, and poached top players from powerhouse programs. Once om got rid of the reason for this- Hugh freeze, the rest of the NCAA was satisfied. Now om will have to be content with winning 5-8 games a year, and poaching recruits from Mississippi State.
It's similar to why State went on probation- they just wanted to get one person out- Jackie Sherrill. Why? Because Sherrill Beat Bammer 4 times, Auburn 6 times, Texas twice, Florida twice, and even Tennessee once with Peyton Manning....to the bigwigs in the SEC, this is a serious NO NO!
om ratting state out, or state showing the NCAA evidence of corruption in the om athletic system had very little to do with the final ruling on either school. Xenareb didn't have to whore herself out to the NCAA investigator because this was totally completely out of the hands of small fry like him.

I have no way of knowing this for sure but I have wondered if they would have gotten hit harder if Freeze had not gotten caught with hookers. I suspect that they would have.

I specifically implied that OM had PERSONAL dirt on NCAA members and probably had a plan to ONE by ONE cause unbearable pain on members ONE by ONE, thus OM had a credible threat to the NCAA by singling out specific members ONE by ONE. Examples could be exposure of tax and marital issues which could cause PERSONAL pain ONE by ONE. IF you were threatened with the IRS or divorce attorneys, would you not accommodate the threat? I personally believe that Johnny Manzel's family could have further educated OM on handling the NCAA. Remember Manzel has blood relatives in organized crime. That is probably why he got away lightly with the paid autographs right under the NCAA's nose.

Ole Miss has been a Culture of Corruption for years. If Freeze wouldn't have been such a thin skinned, narcissistic, sociopath who cheated his ass off then dared anyone to prove he did, they wouldn't be on probation today.
Not only did Mississippi State embarrass LSU on this night. Davis Wade Stadium wrecked Tiger Stadium in music choice, atmosphere and, most of all, volume.
When I'm 80 and deaf, it's not going to be all those Springsteen concerts or Queen at Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans on Halloween Night in 1978, it will be this game...............Glen Guilbeau--Sherveport Times
