    Vic Schaefer is awesome...

he signs smart players that understand the importance of team basketball. He teaches and coaches them up. He cares about his players but he isn't afraid to sit them if he thinks they are hurting the team (see Mo Williams getting benched the last ten minutes of the NC game). Howland and his team need to watch Vic's practices for awhile and learn. The ladies continue to set the standard for how basketball should be played at MSU.

Vic Scaefer is definitely awesome, and we do have a very smart team. But McCowan and Vivians are both 5-star upperclassmen. That helps.

The women have a player that would be the equivalent to a 7'2" on a men's team. That would certainly help.

Schaefer recruited and signed those studs. That?s part of his greatness.

I wouldn't trade Vic for another coach in America.

Attendance at women's games vs. men's speaks for its self. Hope the guys learn to play team ball soon and the Hump returns to a packed house.

And her first year she could not hit a layup. Maybe the most improved player male or female I have ever watched. Coaching?

This may not be remembered, but after McCowan's freshman year, Vic added an assistant coach to his staff that is/was supposed to be one of the best at coaching and developing centers. After that hire, you saw Okorie's game improve and now you're seeing greatness from McCowan. To me, that's a HC that realizes what kind of players he has on his team and makes sure his staff is put together in a way to get the most out of them.

For those who didn't get to watch the after game interview with McCowan and Vivians, click the link below. As McCowan says in the end, a team has to pick their poison with this MSU team.
