Head coach found a way to win by turning over play calling? I’m ok with that. Sounds very un-Dan of him. And his offense was just fine at OSU and Tampa. Record breaking in fact.

he failed at usm, do not want a usm failed retread.

Failed at USM. Everyone fails at USM. He’s a good coach.

USM fan here.
His 13-25 record is deceiving. He inherited a program that was absolute shit. There were games in his first year where we were playing with less than 60 scholarship players due to roster turnover and mismanagement under Ellis Johnson. That's insane for an FBS program. By year 3, he had us competing for conference championships and playing somewhat competitively against power conference schools like State, Nebraska, and Washington. He did load up on JUCOs, but that was the only way for him to get USM back to having a roster halfway worth a damn. He wasn't going to recruit JUCOs forever.
It is true that he isn't a big recruiting guy and he also doesn't like having to deal with donors and all the drama that goes on with that. I do think he prefers pro over college and that his ultimate goal is to be an NFL HC.
All that being said, Mississippi State could do far, far worse than Todd Monken. He's a brilliant offensive mind. Get a competent DC and you guys wouldn't miss a beat.

I think Monken would be a great hire.

Meh
Not only did Mississippi State embarrass LSU on this night. Davis Wade Stadium wrecked Tiger Stadium in music choice, atmosphere and, most of all, volume.
When I'm 80 and deaf, it's not going to be all those Springsteen concerts or Queen at Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans on Halloween Night in 1978, it will be this game...............Glen Guilbeau--Sherveport Times
