Our Team?s Football IQ Will Be Tested Tonight

As ready as our players must be to play tonight physically, it?s equally important that they are ready mentally.

Our football IQ will be tested tonight because OM going to run trick plays, fakes, and odd formations all night long.

Luke still thinks he has a chance to get the job, so he will throw the kitchen sink at us tonight.

When it comes to recovering fumbles and defending trick and running trick plays, I often question our players. I?m a little concerned because tonight they will tested.

I will admit this is the one aspect that has me concerned. We’ve been beaten by flea flickers, RB pass, deep ball, etc. Things that have the potential to expose our secondary scare me. I don’t think they will run on us straight up. But if they are able to open things up downfield with some trickery, I will be apprehensive.

Fat matt is playing with house money. He has nothing to lose.
If we come out and punch them in the mouth early I think they fold though. If we let them hang around it could get very interesting though

And our team's football IQ will be tested mentally as I expect several TCUN players to try and "bait" them into doing something stupid after the play. They can't fall for that crap. No silly personal fouls.

I think we’re going to beat the 17 out of them. Luke and Longo aren’t intelligent enough to scare me.

If Matt Luke has practiced trick plays and such all week, his players will have picked up the hint they are outmatched imo. I think having a gimmicky game plan can have a bad effect on mental preparation.

Trick plays only go so far. They can't outscore us on nothing but trick plays.

Nope, and if they’re dumb enough to think so we will have a fun night. I don’t think their junior high offense will work against us either. I imagine they’ll score a little, but I think we score a lot more.

After I saw their junior high offense against Cal, I said Shae won’t play in Egg Bowl. I said he will either be hurt or will have quit from the pounding their offense will give him. Looks like both may have happened.

I expect our offense to pretty much move the ball at will, as long as we don’t try to be cute. I’m excited to watch our defense though, I really think they are gonna have a lot of fun tonite.
