I actually see it as the opposite. Gus going to Arky would be similar to CDM staying in Starkville. Less pressure. Longer tenure. More reasonable fans.

I don't think Gus will walk away from Auburn and go to the Hogs unless he is forced out which could happen. Arkansas obviously like Tn and Florida have leadership problems as does Auburn.

Auburn has way more potential than the other schools I mentioned.

That's what I was trying to say.
Not only did Mississippi State embarrass LSU on this night. Davis Wade Stadium wrecked Tiger Stadium in music choice, atmosphere and, most of all, volume.

When I'm 80 and deaf, it's not going to be all those Springsteen concerts or Queen at Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans on Halloween Night in 1978, it will be this game...............Glen Guilbeau--Sherveport Times

Coaching wise next season we could see new coaches at:

    A&M
    Arkansas
    Auburn
    Florida
    Ole Miss

If this happens then I'm liking our chances for a playoff run.

Less than a zero percent chance.

If you dont think winning the Pac12 is easier than winning the SEC, I cant help you. Recruiting wise, if he can get Cali and Texas kids to Oregon he can get them to LA.

Malzahn would most certain bolt to Ark if the Aubies give him shit after the IB. Good relationship with the big booster and the only show in the state.
I think his wife will have more influence on this than many people realize. They were very involved in a megachurch up here who has a lot of pull politically and Kristi's parents still live here and are getting up there in age so she may want to be closer to them. Springdale (where he coached) is the home of Tyson so their boosters like him. It's a weird dynamic because most of the common fans here don't like him, but the big money in Northwest Arkansas do.

I good analogy to Auburn is marrying a drama queen bomb shell in which he sex is amazing but she is never happy, occasionally cheats on you, & always appears to be looking around with one foot out of the relationship. Wouldn't it be better to just marry an 8 that loves you, wants you around, has well above average sex with you, & appreciates you?

The Tennessee job is like marrying a 8 or 9 with all those problems.
You also have to share the state with Bama.

There's an SDS article out saying Arkansas has contacted Gus about replacing Fat Bert. And Gus didn't say no.

You don't have to live in Alabama.
