We should be but probably won?t based on all the typical pollster/media bs.

ETA I could see 12-15 though

We will be picked #7...in the West.

And we can all laugh once again.

We probably should be but they will harp on something ridiculous like MSU loses their top WR's and we'll be 15th.

    I’ll write the story now...
The Bulldogs have too many holes to fill after losing key contributors from their roster such as star punter Logan Cooke.

And also lose the majority of their receptions and receiving yards with the graduation of Gray, J Thomas and Myles. To much to overcome in the passing game******

If we go 9-3 will be #12 next year. I think we start building some long deserved respect.

You can go ahead and write it down how the media will preseason the West:

    Bama
    LSU
    Auburn
    A&M
    State
    Arkansas
    BearSharks

We won't gain any respect. We would have to win an SEC title to be looked at a differently, and win two of them to have any lasting media respect. I quit worrying about our rankings because of this.

We could win a natty and still wouldn't be ranked top ten the next year

No ,will never happen. Dawgs have to start out last in the SEC West or next to the last. Talking heads always say that.

I think if we go 9-3 and win our bowl game against a decent OOC opponent pretty convincingly you will see us in the top 15 for sure. Have the talking heads been wrong in the past to an extent yes. But, we have only finished in the top 25 at the end of the year what like twice? It is going to take several years of consistently winning 9+ games for us to be a regular top 15 preseason team.

That being said, If we finish 9-3 what bowl do yall think we are looking at? The Citrus? or do we sneak into a NY6.

Ahead of us in picks assuming everything happens as expected:

Tier 1 (Sugar Bowl Playoff game and Peach Bowl)
Alabama 12-0 12-1 if they lose SECCG
UGA 12-0 11-1 12-2 Still have Auburn on schedule+ SECCG

Tier 2(assuming we go 9-3) Citrus bowl, Outback bowl, possible at large NY6
MSU 9-3 (Still have Bama, OM, and Arky)
Auburn 9-3 or 8-4 (still have UGA and Bama on schedule.. Losses to Clemson and LSU)
LSU 9-3 or 8-4 7-5 (still have Bama,Ark, Tennessee, and A and M.... Losses to MSU and Troy)
USCE 8-4 (still have UGA, UF, and Clemson) Think they drop two of those three.

    1. The Rose Bowl is the second semifinal, not the Peach Bowl
    2. The Peach Bowl is the most likely at-large spot in the NY6 if we can get there. It would likely be against UCF or Memphis.
    3. The Citrus Bowl is in a tier by itself.
    4. The Outback bowl is the same as the Liberty Bowl in this new era.

A 9-3 MSU could go to the Peach Bowl, the Citrus Bowl, or any of the Group of Six games. I've heard that the Liberty would like an MSU-Iowa State matchup.

We don't sneak into the NY6 unless there is chaos in the Big 12 and Pac 12 such that one team in each conference runs away from the rest and the rest all beat up on each other so they don't get a second team in the NY6.

If we don't get into the NY6, it's going to be between us and Auburn for the Citrus. If they lose to Bama and UGA, they'll have the head to head matchup but we'll have a better overall record. No clue who would get the Citrus in that situation.
If they beat Bama or UGA, they'll clearly be ahead of us, but we might still get the Citrus because a 9-3 Auburn with a win over UGA or Bama, a blowout win over a 9-3 MSU team, and losses to two top ten teams (Clemson and either UGA/Bama) and an away loss to a 8-4 or 9-3 LSU is probably more likely to get to a NY6 bowl than a 9-3 MSU with blowout losses to UGA and Auburn and possibly Bama.

If we fall to the group of bowls after the Citrus, I would think Liberty would be likely unless they don't want to send us back after going there in 2013.

    You guys have it wrong.

We’ll be close to top 10 preseason in January’s “way too early” predictions, but then will fall to 18-21 or so by July.

The media makes us worse every year between Feb and August.
