    OL Play

May have been one of the best games they have played. Eiland and Reese are growing up fast.
0 sacks allowed again today, only 3 TFL?s for -4 yards, and only 1 QBH. And they were road graders setting 282 rushing yards. And they all come back next year.

Those 2 young men at the tackles have been awesome for rookies. Darryl Williams pulls almost as good as Jenkins did last year and Calhoun and Jenkins are doing serious work. Our best ol who will be a high draft pick hasn?t even played the last 2 games. Future is bright.

If Hev could ever recruit to his postion, we would have a killer offensive line. The guy CAN develop and coach.

Looks like we got a few good ones coming in this class to go with what we already have. Got to keep getting better!

It's a choice. Would you rather play for a guy you like who may or may not make you better, or would you play for a guy you might not like, but who will get everything possible out of you? If you think about it the latter fits our style. I'm not talking about the coach, I'm talking about the guys who make that second choice.

Hev can coach- no doubt. His recruiting choices and personality are struggles in life

Right on all that. Wish his personality matched his coaching ability.

It's more like if you have to choose between two coaches who can get you to the NFL but you like one better than the other.

We always have a few great OL games, a couple of good ones and a couple or more where they look lost. This was a great game.

Having downplayed them, this is our most talented OL that in the era of Mullen/Hev recruiting and it is looking up from that perspective.

I'm not as experienced as you at looking at so many high school players but ... yea, I sho never thought he'd look as good as he is looking. His movement and feet are light years from his high school video.

Losing rankin is going to end up being a big blessing for next year. When is the last time we had 5 starting OL coming back that looked this good. Reese and eiland should still improve a good bit by next year too.

He needs to be in the NFL. He don’t care to recruit, problem solved. His o-lines need a pre-season to get to form, problem solved. And we could find a recruiter that can coach, and has his guys playing well earlier in every season. That being said our young guys caught on pretty dang quick, and are better than I thought they were.
You're blind if you can't see improvement.....Freshmens......Strain.....Kick rocks and pound sand......Drag my Yankee ass outta here!......

Hev is the man. He's got his guys and he's developing them. Props to him.

He is certainly one of the most complicated coaches in MSU history

I think we have pretty much nailed him though:

    Really good coach
    Below average to disgusting recruiting.

However, if he pulls Johnson, McDowell, Carvin, & Bliech in this recruiting cycle, then that is pretty damn good recruiting

The biggest development factor for the tackles this is year is having to face Rivers on the scout team every week.

We are now #2 in the country in Sacks Allowed; #4 in TFLs allowed, and #1 in least yards lost in TFLs
