Weekend Cooking & Drinking Thread: Catch Scratch Fever Edition

I know I'm doing ribs and chicken wings for the game tomorrow but that's all I know. I also have a bottle of Buffalo Trace I bought a few weeks ago that I've been intending to crack but haven't. Decent shot it gets opened this weekend.

We went out tonight; had some pretty decent Italian. Now I'm sitting on the couch watching Se7en (one of my favs) and drinkin' some bourbon.

I have a pregnant wife who sometimes just gets a hankering for certain restaurants. Wednesday night was one of those. All she wanted was Olive Garden. I played it safe, spaghetti/meatballs and a carfare of wine.

Spent pre-game painting trim on the house just repaired after the hurricane. So, leftover red beans and rice I slow cooked earlier this week hit the spot

Hilariously, our power went out last night, right in middle of me cooking dinner. I didn't get to watch any of the OM-LSU game. Luckily, we have a gas stove, so I was able to finish dinner, but didn't take a picture, sadly. Power didn't come back until 3am. WTF, Worcester?

We had a surf and surf last night. I seared some scallops, and served them with fresh English peas, bacon, pearl onions, and fresh mint. The main was some halibut steaks, which I poached in butter, and served with roasted carrots and baby zucchini. All was really good, and we got to eat by candlelight.

    Ambiance by accident... Sounds outstanding
