What David Bellamy, GA Outside Linebacker Said About the MSU Player(s) Smack Talk

David Bellamy said he thought their guys were really fired up for the game. He was asked why? He said that we don't talk. We come out here and do our talking on the field with our hats. He said I think they are a great team, but I think they added a little more fuel to the fire. He said GA also wanted to make a statement against an SEC West Team and not play like they had in some past performances.

Smack Talk like that usually backfires. Playing a team like GA and especially playing between the hedges, you don't need to do something to motivate them more. I don't think that would have changed the outcome, but it definitely didn't help our cause from what it sounded like. I hope Dan has or will address this issue.

Especially on Twitter. I saw some of our guys talking smack on there and probably other social media and that's something we probably shouldn't allow. At least not until after the game.

I don't mind us necessarily talking smack- but just back it up. And we didn't.

I agree Todd. Simmons backed his up in the pregame LSU. I had rather us do our talking on the field, but definitely not midweek smack talking about our SEC opponents.

    I could care less.

We need to worry about ourselves and not about the other team.

I like the swagger and prefer we keep doing it.

It'll benefit us in the long run.

Smack talk is over-rated. At the end of the day, you either perform on the field of play or you do not. Last night, we failed to perform in any facet of the game that would allow us to win. We had a poor week of practice and UGA chose to play their best game in two years, much to our chagrin.

We can only look forward to Aubie now and focus on being the better team out of the gate next Saturday night (as opposed to being tricked by a touchdown bomb to open the game). Nice play call, UGA.

I''m not sure how it can benefit us, but if you say so. Now swagger on the field I agree, but not mid week smack talk. If you can talk the talk and walk the walk, well maybe, but we didn't and it motivated them more. According to them they had an excellent practice week and we didn't according to Mullen. Practice usually translates over to game performance. Apparently in this game it did.

Exactly- just keep it off of social media.

It's a catch 22. I want to see brashness and confidence, but when it doesn't translate to the field of play, boy do we look foolish.

Saturday night proved that some are both one in the same. Don't talk if you can't back it up and don't give them bulletin board material.

Nifae Laelao agrees with this post.
