Those BYU fans are going to get an added treat this weekend in Nola...

This weekend is the annual Southern Decadence weekend. They may be praying for 40 days and 40 nights straight, when they get back to Utah.

I remember BYU coming to Starkville but don't remember if they traveled well? Did they bring a decent crowd for as long as that trip is?

Went to the final Motley Crue show there the night before we played USM in Hattisburg when that was going on. Had no idea it was going on til we got there.

Wooooo Weeee, those poor BYU folks gonna get educated for sure
Not only did Mississippi State embarrass LSU on this night. Davis Wade Stadium wrecked Tiger Stadium in music choice, atmosphere and, most of all, volume.

When I'm 80 and deaf, it's not going to be all those Springsteen concerts or Queen at Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans on Halloween Night in 1978, it will be this game...............Glen Guilbeau--Sherveport Times

Gotta feel for the BYU fans then ... Southern Decadence weekend is certainly something I'd never like to witness. It's aptly named.

Bless them all. I don't think everyone understands what the southern decadence is and to be honest I wish I didn't. Unfortunately I do, due to being in New Orleans on Labor Day weekend and seeing in it first hand. It's hard to explain to your young daughters why a scantly dressed man is leading another scantly dressed man in a dog leash down Bourbon street. For those that don't really know what it is about here is the website. http://www.southerndecadence.net

    True Story:

I was around 22, single, still bumming off my parents and was washing my car one summer day when these two extremely attractive girls walk up my driveway and ask if I wanted to talk about God. I'm talking girl next door beautiful. I'm thinking maybe I can turn this into my advantage so I talk to them about 10 minutes and they're all smiles, laughing at my jokes, talked about BYU and Utah and then one of them says "Hey, we'd love to come back by tonight and talk some more if that's ok?".

I'm thinking "Yahtzee!". Sure, girls, I'll see y'all tonight.

About 6 that night the doorbell rings. I'm excited. I jump up, open the door and there before me stood two dudes. Two goofy looking dudes. I'm like, "Hey, where are the girls?" And the lead goof says "Oh, they asked us to drop by and finish your talk about God." I sighed heavily and mumbled "Bait and switch."

    I slammed the door.

    The End.

There is over 15 Million Mormons in the world and 30,000 living in Mississippi. I am one and trust me they are not as naive as you making them out to be.

Most of you are probably Baptist and let me point out that Freeze is one of your representatives.

"Freeze is one of your representatives." Absolutely not, he just pretended to be a baptist, he's much closer to a presbyterian*

Good Choice! If I wasn't Mormon I would probably be Catholic.

I do want to point out that I do not pull for BYU. In fact I activity pull against them in sports. Both my wife brothers graduated from BYU and a little over the top since the lost back in the early 2000.

    Good One!

I am glad the church drop that back in the 1890's. Lord knows I don't want two. Little known fact you couldn't just marry as many as you wanted. You were asked by the church to Marry a second wife. Also and I am not sure but the first wife had to agree. Some of the BYU lurkers and verify that. It was a calling and only worthy males would be asked. Two reasons, one to populate the church the second many of the husbands were being killed off by those who hated Mormons in Missouri, Illinois and New York. When they decided to Move west you had a lot of widows with children who needed a husband to get them across the great plains to Utah.

One other thing up until 1950 or so you could drink beer, smoke tobacco and still be a worthy member. My family membership in the church goes back to my great great grand father who served in the Confederate army during the Civil War. I have photo of them smoking pipes.
