Where would Hev be if he wasn't the MSU OL coach?

Mullen obviously doesn't want to let Hev go. I'm still surprised Sallach is gone. Maybe it's because they've been together so long or perhaps Mullen feels Hev's OL coaching is the secret sauce to his offense. Regardless at this point Mullen must know that Hev hasn't established a dynamic resume and would likely be professionally in trouble if he lost this job. So, where do you think Hev would land of canned by Mullen.

    1) Inner city HS head coach that preaches tough love and hard work.
    2) OL coach at service academy or similar school like the Citadel.

He'd be a middle school OL coach with a Summer job as a mover.

He would probabaly be a OL coach at a Power 5 school up north. You put him in that situation where his personality doesn't class as bad and he would recruit better. It goes against the grain but the guy is a pretty decent OL coach. He does a lot with what he has. If he could up his recruiting to his position he would be much more than decent. He did basically get us Dak, I'll be forever greatful for that.

Meyer also moved him from OL coach to "tackles and TEs" coach and then moved him to just TE coach before we hired Mullen. That is why he was available.

I am not saying he cannot coach. This year will tell the tale. He has 11 reasonably talented players the are RFr or higher. It is certainly the most talented and deep OL of the Mullen era. If we screw the pooch like we did against South Alabama last year, then he is definitely not the guy. If he is that good a coach, it should not take until 6 games into the season for the OL to gel.

Given the talent he's put in the league, Hev would have no issue grabbing another D1 job. Whole bunch of OL coaches who haven't put a Gabe in the league.

". He did basically get us Dak, I'll be forever greatful for that."

QB at MSU vs Greyshirt TE at LSU.... wasn't that hard of a sales job.

If he has such a great reputation a) why has that not translated to recruiting like Dak for QBs and b) why has he not gotten any of the other jobs where he interviewed.

We got him because Hev found him and we recruited in first. Watch the Dallas video.

More like he identified Dak. Dan finished off the recruiting aspect. And considering that TCU found him too odds are good whoever had that territory would have found him also for us.

Hev knew his coach. We were on him before anyone else and that's how we got him.

He would probably be Head Coach at Alabama leading them to their 41st National Championship*
