Charles Moore just committed to MSU
Five star DL from Louisville. He's out for the year with an ACL, but I'm not too worried about that considering the position he plays. Top player in the state for 2019 as well.

Kaboom!!!!!
Between him and Jones, we are starting off huge for 2019.
Gonna be a top 15 to top 10 class

It's almost impossible for us to have a top ten class. And hays not a bitch it's a fact. Heck I'm tickled w this class but it's more than likely not going to be top 20. Closer to 30 before it's over. And still in the bottom half of the league 8-10 range. But it's a really good class that I like, again.

He's referring to the 2019 class not 2018. Have you seen the talent in ms for 2019? Our class will be much closer to 10 than 30. I'm guessing somewhere between 8-12

I understand that. My point is we still won't be in the top 10. It's too difficult. Not enough star power in state. And yes I think it too will be a great class. Should be top 20 assuming we sing the full 25 as we should. But that doesn't change my point about this year. People are saying we are having a much better year, Mullen is focused more or whatever. I think he's always been focused, yet this is class that will finish about 25-30. Just what it is. And again, I really like our class.

Next year's class actually does have the star power in MS.....but we would literally have to sign every 4/5* player to finish in the top 10, and that won't happen. A top 15 class should be doable though....especially if Jalon Jones gets bumped to a 4*.

That's awesome! Great get! Amazing how much better our recruiting is going without the bears out there here trying to buy everyone.

I think they paid recruits not to visit or commit to us.

They did.
Will be interesting to see if they continue that just in spite, when they have no chance of getting a player

Like I said in my thread a few days ago, the only thing standing between MSU & a potential playoff caliber program in the next 5 years is coaching instability.
Lock this staff up & lets take advantage of the greatest opportunity of our life times, which in turn has a chance to propel this program to sustainable high level winning, even after OM starts cheating again

Playoff Caliber??? Let's pump the brakes a little. We were 5-7 last year before catching a break just to go bowling. OL and WR recruiting remain problem spots as is out of state recruiting of blue chip talent. That said, a big year on the field combined with the Rebels demise could open a lot of new doors while providing us momentum this program has not enjoyed since Sherrill's first season. 9 win reg season should do the trick

Malik Heath is a four star WR recruit and John Patterson from Pearl is extremely underrated because many think he will have to go the JUCO route first. Our issue at WR is being rectified but it won't be obvious until next year.
OL- I agree. That's the only spot left to improve.

We need to be signing 3-4 M Heath's every year due to busts and attrition.

Who does that?
We'd be the Cowboys if we did that

We need to be balancing out our WR's better between slot WR's and outside WR's with length is actually the problem. Or was the problem. We signed too many guys that project as slot WR's and not enough guys that could either do both like Fred Ross or were true outside WR's. And even Ross probably fit better in the slot.

I think you are over thinking this.
You arguing semantics. Put it this way, with a stable coaching staff, we have chance to build MSU into the best it's ever been over the next 5 years.

Going forward, there is absolutely zero reason we can't be the Kansas State or Virginia Tech of the SEC, which is a team that is ALWAYS competitive, every other year competes for a spot in the top-10 or to-15.

We kind of already do that. I bet we've ranked in the top 15 at least 3 times in Mullen's tenure which is about every other year.
