Are any of these a significant step up from Russell's 231 for 394, 2897 yards, 24td, 10int last year?

find a FCS OC running an uptempo creative offense putting up 600 yds/game. i don't care who it is. that's how oregon landed kelly.

Yes. It is MUCH better than Russell in MSU's current offense.

Troy frequently uses a dual QB system. They even run 2 QBs on the field at the same time. The point was how EDENFIELD used a pass-first spread QB with lead feet in a way that allowed great success to their overall offense.

This is Troy's OVERALL passing rankings under Edenfield.
    #7(current), #8, #17, #12, #4, #33(year1)...

This is MSU's OVERALL passing rankings under Mullen/Koenning.
    #62(current), #59, #94, #87, #113(year1)...

You tell me which is working better...

You would think some poster from this messasge board would apply reading some of the posts. There is just too much football expertise here to let go to waste.

But the efficiency isn't really any better. They're just throwing it a whole lot more.

Just curious who are some candidates you guys think would be a good fit as our OC?

I have heard some say Troy's OC Ken Hatenfield (he was HC at Southwest MS for a couple years)

Any other names from small schools, or position coaches at other schools who would be good fits as our OC?
It's my understanding Mullen had staff changes in mind prior to the start of the 2013 season for "performance" reasons.

You are really arguing that Troy's offense isn't alot more efficient than ours?

    Total Offense
    current - Troy #14, MSU #60
    2012 - Troy #11, MSU #80
    2011 - Troy #65, MSU #84
    2010 - Troy #17, MSU #42
    2009 - Troy #3, MSU #69

    Yards/Play
    current - Troy 6.87, MSU 5.80
    2012 - Troy 6.2, MSU 5.85
    2011 - Troy 5.26, MSU 5.39
    2010 - Troy 5.91, MSU 5.75
    2009 - Troy 6.49, MSU 5.39
    5 yr average: Troy 6.146, MSU 5.636

Form an argument based on something next time, please... Instead of just arguing for the sake of arguing.

That 18 inch/play difference over 5 years makes a difference of 30-40 spots in the offensive pecking order across the country, which is a big ass difference...

No one would be complaining if we were consistently in the top 50 in these categories...

I wasn't given any specific names but I have a couple that come to mind... As I am sure you do too. I will see if I can get some more concrete details tho.

They are throwing with success against equal or better talent.

We light up lesser talent and do so-so against equal talent, and struggle big time against better talent.

Making the difference I highlighted even more drastic...

I can break down my overall "how good the offenses are against the quality of defense they face" ratings if need be...
