Just now realizing.....
The COI hearing will be on September 11. Are we allowed to make 9/11 jokes?

Depends.
I think it would be in poor taste to, for example, put freeze's picture on one fallen tower, Bjork on the other and NCAA logo on the plane about to hit it.
Come to think of it, I can't think of a joke that would be in particularly good taste.

No. Just no. Let's sit back, enjoy the OM disaster on its own merits, and keep the high ground.

No plus in almost any joke scenario the sh!tbirds would be the USA and the NCAA would be the terrorists. In reality the sh!tbirds provoked their own destruction and the NCAA is just meting out justice.
Death penalty or bust!!!***

Absolutely not.

No. One is about thousands of people dying and one is about football games. The two aren't even close to being comparable.

Then how else would there be any 9/11 jokes? Something else significant happen that day in the past?

Pick one, any one (except the year 2001):

I'd personally go with 1950 when the cartoon Beetle Bailey debuted. We could always retire the word "rue" and start inserting appropriate comic strips that illustrate how big of a cluster they created for themselves.

Exhibit A: This shows how the COI Meeting will go:

Exhibit B: How Freeze prefers for the ladies of the night to talk to him:

ummmm how about Little House on the Prairie makes its television debut. Not everything has to be the worst of the worst. I recommend you smile a little more and try to have a little more fun in life

Ima go with this one:
1297 - Scotsman William Wallace defeated the English forces of Sir Hugh de Cressingham at the Battle of Stirling Bridge
NCAA's William Wallace defeated the Confederate forces of Sir Hugh and his RandyMen at the Battle of OXXXford.

Anyone who makes a joke about the events of 9/11 will be banned forever. Just saying.
