They should have just said "WE need YOUR money" as a PR campaign. It gets the point across much easier and isn't as embarrassing as this.

They're about to pay Houston Nutt millions for doing nothing...again.
They're not getting Bowl money this year of around $8 million.
They're paying a bunch of lawyer a bunch of money to do nothing on this NCAA case.
They're going to be fined very heavily by the NCAA and maybe the SEC.
They have to go pay a new coach enough to ignore the carnage in Oxford.

Not sure about this but I have heard that they have as much as 80 million set aside for rainy days ... not saying it's true but I'm quite sure they aren't broke ... at least not yet ... this was from a self proclaimed insider ...... but then again - if he got that from xancy cancel all bets

I'm fairly confident that with their recruiting cutbacks, that they definitely have near 80 million set aside. They are probably near half that in just escort service cutbacks.

BTW, the tweet from Ole Miss with the above PR slogan has since been deleted. The twitter feedback was not positive. lol

Never said they were broke. Their PR campaign chose to pickup on a quote about "price". Why this line? I could go through Luke's statement and find five better catch phrases.

OM knows that money is the engine of the program and they are spending a lot, will have to spend a lot more in the future while not receiving as much. This will put them behind State and a lot of other programs around them.

Maybe they know that with an non-competitive team and 13 boosters getting disassociated and others taking their ball home fund raising is going to get a little harder.
