If you want to know the moment it happened, this was it. When the boosters overthrew Pete Boone and Dan Jones over not allowing Nutt to hire David Saunders, they took control of the program and took it to where we are today. Not that booster involvement and cheating weren't rampant under Boone and Jones, but there were a couple of lines. Forward Rebels erased all the lines and allowed boosters to put figureheads in place that did their bidding.
This blog post always makes me laugh.
Pete Boone might be a dumbass but he wasn't an idiot. He knew exactly what was going to happen when the gloves came off.
