So is it ego and pride that caused everything? UM couldn't stand Dan beating them 3 years in a row and wanted to win immediately. You also see Cam Newton and Auburn get away with basically being caught red handed. Then when they decide to cheat, they aren't going to do it half ass. They aren't content with the MS grandslam but also have to dick over UGA, Clemson, and other bigger programs. Once they started down that path, it seems like a rock rolling down hill. Crootapolooza just kept getting bigger and their targets kept getting higher to the point of buying guys out from under Oklahoma and Texas also.

If they just kept buying guys out from under MSU and start dominating the state of MS then work their way up over 5 or so years to getting out of state recruits, then nothing is probably ever done. Greed is costing them big time now.

When the boosters overthrew Pete Boone and Dan Jones over not allowing Nutt to hire David Saunders, they took control of the program and took it to where we are today. Not that booster involvement and cheating weren't rampant under Boone and Jones, but there were a couple of lines. Forward Rebels erased all the lines and allowed boosters to put figureheads in place that did their bidding.
