Thats bullshit. No way the NCAA is ruling on the case and hearing whatever appeals OM offers up in the coming weeks. Freeze resigning doesn't give all the players free reign to transfer immediately without sitting.

Can the university opt to allow transfers prior to the NCAA ruling, given the extreme circumstances? Is there any precedent here? Clearly it would be the ethical thing to do, but we all know ethics are not allowed in Oxford.

What I should have said is news of players wanting to come to MSU. Obviously, as you're pointing out, the ncaa won't rule in the coming weeks. I highly doubt really many players leave the team before the fall. I was meaning to make a statement about the future. Likely transfers would leave after this season, assuming the COI rules this fall.

I'm pretty sure they would have to sit out a year unless they are a grad transfer or they go down a level to Jackson State or somewhere like that. If the players are smart they will wait on the NCAA ruling which I highly suspect will allow them to transfer without sitting out and also to another SEC school if they choose to do so.

Does this interest us at all?
What should interest us is who had some TAIL paid for as part of their recruiting. Is paid off TAIL a permissible benefit, thus who is really legal to transfer in the eyes of the NCAA?

I suspect there will be several players over the next few days contact the NCAA about it.

I don't know the exact wording but if an Ole Miss player wanted to go to MSU tomorrow and be on scholarship Ole Miss would have to approve it. Like they allowed Austin Golson to transfer to Auburn so he wouldn't rat on them about recruitingpalooza 2013.

If they are a freshman or a sophomore this season they could go to a JUCO and transfer to MSU or wherever from there without a problem as long as MSU or whoever wants them. Any grad transfer they would have to release and normally that's not to an in conference school.

My guess is they would suspend a player for whoever many games in that situation. I don't know how many or if any current Ole Miss players were interviewed though so it may be N/A. I guess they could be granted immunity too just like Student Athlete 39 so that would nullify any suspension if that's the case.

How long until TMZ or similar outlet tracks down one of these escorts and offers 10-20k for an exclusive 'Tell All'?

It's not the university's call to make. It's an NCAA rule and only they can create an exemption.
