Horn Island: fishing from the beach

Ive never been out there. I'm going this weekend.

Help me out, what lure or live bait should I buy? I'll have a spinning reel and fishing from the beach.

    Hail State!

First off, I've never fished Horn but from what I've read you should go topwater early and then switch to jig or popping cork with a vudu or matrix underneath. If it was me going and I've never been, I'm bring a popping cork and a flow troll bucket tied to me and I'm throwing live shrimp. I've read that the name of the game is fishing relatively early. Heavy boat traffic, especially from pleasure boaters kills that bite. Similar to the cove at Cat Island. The MS barrier islands are beautiful so you'll have a blast regardless. Have fun and report back.

Live shrimp under a cork or Carolina rigged live croakers.

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Ole Miss campus police ask students to behave at future baseball games following a recent incident.
The university said students were reportedly throwing rocks at Georgia baseball players during last weekend's series.
