James Bond died.
Roger Moore that is. 89 years old.
-
Well, does that finish the trifecta? Powers Boothe, Chris Cornell, and Roger Moore.

Also Chris Cornell wrote and performed the Bond song for Casino Royale which is the first American since Bond is typically very British.

Yep, then Quantum of Solace had Jack White and Alicia Keys.

Yep, I just think of the scene in Wedding Crashers where she forces dude to motorboat her. Not sure how much she would have to "force" me to do it.

I'm glad you mentioned 'Solitaire', as she was definitely one of the hottest Bond girls. Live and Let Die had her, and possibility the greatest Bond credit song (thank you Sir Paul and Wings).
As a kid I loved Roger Moore's Bond films, especially Live and Let Die. That being said, once I got older, they didn't really hold up very well. The 70's era of 007 was way over the top campy; basically what spawned Austin Powers. Definitely still guilty pleasures, though, lol.

Hey BeardoMSU, some of my favorite scenes involved that southern sheriff. I thought he was hilarious. What did you think of him?

I liked him. He was very Jackie Gleason-esque (i.e., Buford T. Justice).

Yep. I still skim thru some smokey scenes for some Burford T clips. Without Gleason, show would never had been as popular.

Gleason with Richard Pryor in the Toy was fantastic also.

Thanks lp. The scenes I can recall from memory are him explaining to his wife why he didn't want to buy the carved out little elephant from the Asian boy " cuz weeze democrats!" Then the scene where he's sitting shotgun gun as bond is about to make the bridge jump and asks " boy, you ain't about to do what I think you gonna do is ya?"....bond replies " I sho am boy!"..
And the end where he's arriving late on the scene exasperated saying " I gotcha now boy!" Thinking he's about to arrest bond but has to be pulled aside and told that bond is actually a secret agent. And he exclaims " a secret agent?!!!!, on whooose siiide?".....
You have to see the movie to appreciate the humour. Msg board words do it no justice.

I'm sitting here laughing just thinking of those. They're some of the funniest scenes on film IMO.
