Idiots guide to Posting Media on a Forum and other How to's

Alright, I've been meaning to post this for a while and keep forgetting.
A lot of people aren't as web savvy as some of us. I get that. Well still if you don't know how to post a Video or Link
I'm gonna try to help you.

First off. If you are on your phone in Mobile mode (blue skin to the forum) CHANGE IT NOW. It's worthless and limits so much you can do.
Scroll to the very bottom of the page. find the FULL SITE link and click it. You are welcome.

Next.... I have a photo on my computer or phone I took. I want to share it with all of you....
    Go to https://postimg.cc/
Upload your pic. You don't need to create an account. Just upload it.
Click the blue share button for the drop down menu of options. Click direct link
Copy the link that includes the .jpg or other file type at the end https://s13.postimg.org/bwcp3w9uv/si...mushrooms2.jpg
In your message click the picture frame (to the right of the red X but before the movie clip)
a menu will pop open. Make sure you select "From URL" and then uncheck the box below it about retrieve remote file
    Click Ok
    Tada. Dinner is served

Next how to insert a YOUTUBE video
Go to your video on youtube. If on your phone and you see something looking like this (usually from youtube in a mobile browser)
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=...&v=sf6LD2B_kDQ
NOTICE THE M.youtube = mobile. This WILL NOT WORK on the forum
Your best bet is manually edit the URL. ALL YOU HAVE to do is remove the M. Leaving youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=sf6LD2B_kDQ
    Your URL will not embed.
IF you see something like https://youtu.be/sf6LD2B_kDQ
THIS WILL NOT WORK. This is a shortcut. Open this up in any browser and you will get the full url OR the Mobile url which I just showed you how to fix.

NOW that you have the working URL. We want to Embed the video, so it plays within the thread and people dont have to click to go to youtube to see what you posted.
As mentioned above. Click the movie icon next to the picture icon on the menu bar.

What else would you like to do.
How about changing a title after you post it because you misspell something.
Click Edit Post. Go advanced. Correct your title.

If anyone has any other questions. I'm always a PM away...

How about embedding a Tweet? Can you do that you or do you need to just capture it as an image then upload it?

If on a phone I would screenshot , and post as a pic just like I did for the other pics.

Or the easiest way is just link to the tweet. On desktop. Click on the individual tweet and copy the url
    https://twitter.com/d1baseball/statu...68046197432320

If on mobile. Click the down area next to the twitter name (right side of screen) Click copy link to tweet.

If you want to capture it because you think it will be deleted. ALWAYS screencap it.

I didn't mean copy the url... you have to copy the contents of the tweet by clicking and dragging down over the text...
    Such as this...

From Paris with Tanya de Souza's brothers showing their support for #HailState

Does it have something to do with the HTML code?

Turn Off Smart Punctuations in Settings/General/KeyBoard

To turn smart punctuation off, all you have to do is go to Settings > General > Keyboard, and then turn off the ?Smart Punctuation? toggle.

If you'll post an example here of what it's doing, I'll do my best to help.

You're missing a ] at the end of your first [img].
Just click the regular IMG option and paste through there. Should work.

    -Hit settings on top right
    -Hit general settings
    -uncheck "show signatures"
    -Hit save at the bottom

this is how you unsubject yourself to others political or trolling billboard space at the bottom of their posts. You're welcome.

    Hey Scooba...

Could you tell me what I'm doing wrong/ not doing by trying to change a thread title? Here's step by step examples of how I did it. Thanks.

    Here's the example thread

I clicked EDIT - GO ADVANCED - Then changed title to "Running Test Thread"

Then it shows as this inside the thread- after editing title

And it still shows as this on the forum
