Starting to see positives from Hunter Renfroe

He is getting more patient. In his last 8 games before today he has 6 walks and only 5 strikeouts. He is showing more patience and discipline at the plate. Today he has a walk and 3-run homer.

He now has 2 walks today. So 8 walks in last 9 games counting today. If he keeps laying off the balls, they will start throwing him pitches he can handle.

Renfroe with a two-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th to win it. He's been more patient lately, resulting in better pitches to hit.

Same reason I follow Graveman, Frazier, Dak, Darius Slay, etc. They are ours.

I know. And I'm going to keep updating him, good or bad. Random will just have to skip over the thread if he wants.

Graveman has pitched well. He has an ERA of 3.95 in 7 starts. He had one bad outing. Take that bad start away and he has a 2.87 ERA in the other 6 starts.

Mitch Moreland has cooled off. Batted .273 in April and only .214 in May. He reached as high as .358 on April 18. Currently sitting around .254 for the season with 2 homers and 15 doubles.

Haven't seen Frazier since he got the double off Ramirez before marte went deep to beat the braves

I would trade Swanson for Frazier right now and let Albies play short. Of course it won't happen but wishful thinking for a MSU / Braves fan.

I was working in Pittsburgh this week and caught this game. I wore my State baseball shirt and talked to people around me about Frazier. After his first hit he got picked off first. A guy close by gave me a little ribbing about State teaching base running and I told him after watching our current team I had no comeback for him.
The Pirates are not very good but the fans love what they have in Frazier.

Today Renfroe goes 3-4 with an RBI, Moreland has a home run, and Frazier goes 2-3 with a walk and a run scored in 1-0 victory.

Frazier now up to .369. Renfroe up to .218.

His strikeout to walk ratio has definitely improved, so his OBP has had a noticeable jump. He's hitting the ball harder, laying off stuff outside the strike zone. Even his outs are harder hit balls.

On May 5 his average was .205 and his OBP was .218. Since then his average is .273 and his OBP is .418. So I think he is making strides.

He's got to stick with it on this progress. He has been much more disciplined in the last 2 weeks. He's got to avoid falling back into the mode of swinging at everything.
