Mullen's QB Delimma
Arkansas high school QB Gerry Bohanon just moved his commitment date from this Fall to May 19th and Mayden is supposed to commit a week later.
Who does Mullen choose?

Are neither demanding to be the only qb in the class?

Boils down to intangibles...Who's got the leadership qualities and the desire to be great.
I pick Mayden

I personally like Bohanon more, so to me it would be fairly simple, assuming you're concerned that taking both will lead to problems with either one. You push for Bohanon, and if you don't get him, you push for Mayden.

Nope.

There's no guarantee we get both but we'd definitely take both. We will get 1 of the 2 for sure.

Quite a problem we have there, having to take on 2 elite QB's. My how times have changed!

Remember when Jackie was lucky to have 1 decent QB on campus? It is a great problem to have.

Remember it well! So glad QB isn't an issue anymore. Nice to look out there and see SEC caliber QBs behind center and as backups.

Exactly. The NFL wouldn't have allowed Madkin watch the Combine let alone participate and Mullen has had walk on QBs with arguably better resumes than Kevin Fant.
Death penalty or bust!!!***

Madkin's the only QB to have ever led us to the SEC Championship game...

He was "leading" behind an all-time great defense though...

And JJ carrying the load. Loved Wayne's competitiveness though. Never forget that last minute drive to beat arky and win the west. Was sitting on the 20 with my 4 year old son and watched him convert two 4th and longs on that drive. He was a great competitor but just an average qb.

No disrespect to those guys but they wouldn't get a preferred walk on offer from Mullen...at least not as a QB. And let's be honest about that SEC West Championship: it wasn't quite Nick Saban level coaching over at Bama.

When it comes to quarterbacks SURELY we can all agree with 34's old mantra: "In Mullen we trust." The guy made a serviceable SEC quarterback out of Chris Relf, the Bear Killer, for Pete's sake. Dak goes without saying. Fitz too. If I was a QB and Dan came calling I would commit on the spot. I would SIGN on the spot.
