OT: 7 y/o bone marrow transplant update
FYI. We travelled to cincy this week and received good news from doctor. Not the very best news we could've gotten but good news nonetheless. My wife posted the following on caringbridge.com
We received good news while in Cincinnati. Still a long road ahead but good news nonetheless.
About to post this to caring bridge but sending to family first:
Some good news today!
Parker does NOT have FA - thank you God for hearing our prayers!
Eliot does NOT have MDS - thank you God for answering our prayers!
Eliot does have Fanconi Anemia. He will eventually have to have a bone marrow transplant, but because he does not have MDS it is not something that has to happen immediately. His blood counts will be monitored regularly and he will have another bone marrow biopsy in three to six months. (This time frame depends on results from the biopsy from yesterday
and results from the genetic panel.)
I just want to brag and tell you how proud I am of both boys on this trip and especially Eliot being so brave for all his test. They make my heart happy!
Please continue to pray for Eliot. We are praying that his counts stay or improve from what they are, that he does not develop MDS (which then develops to leukemia), that he continues to stay healthy and that a cure for FA will be made.
Thank you for everything!
God is so good!!
