    Of these 3, rank 1-3:

    Sundown

If You Could Read My Mind

This post in no particular order. All very close for me...could switch depending on mood, weather, time of day, etc.

    Edmund Fitz - 1

Other 2 tied for 3d if I can only choose from those 3.

What would you put in? Rainy Day People? Carefree Highway? Early Morning Rain?

    Which would you take out?

Early morning rain. Just the name reminds me and every other grunt of "stand to" in a water filled fighting position and staying wet and cold for days on end. It might be sunny everywhere but it's raining in the field.

    # 1 "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"
I prefer "Sundown" to "If You Could Read My Mind," but the latter may be the objectively better written song. "Early Morning Rain" is great and another personal preference over "If You Could Read My Mind."

Why is this a thread? Am I missing a joke? Yes, I know who Gordon Lightfoot is.

If you don't know the answer to that...you don't get it, or are too young to appreciate all-time-great music.

When I first heard The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald, I thought it was a song about some 19th Century wreck...turns out it was a song written less a month after it sank. My favorite GL song.
    2) If you could read my mind.
    3)Sundown.

Yeah, I thought that too. I don't even remember it being on the news when the ship sank. Surely it must have been though.
