I think anything based on previous season is flawed.

Random, where did we finish 2016? started 30th, curious how we finished. do you know?
When you think about it, our 2016 team was probably better than our 2013 team. Had 4 close losses in 2016 to eventual bowl teams and really only had one of those in 2013 vs Auburn. Plus, we beat a top #10 team at the time in 2016 so there's that. Good thing we featured J-Rob second half of Ark in 2013 or not even debatable.
It'll be interesting to see how we do in 2017 vs 2014 with LSU & Bama in Starkville with MSU returning an experienced jr QB.

I think Grantham is going to have the Defense back but this team will live and die with the Oline. We have a chance at 8 wins if the Oline is just better than horrible. Fitz and Williams don't have to have a great Oline to do damage. I think we have enough DBs coming in that we will at least have enough to compete. Peters and McLaurin were solid from last year so between the rest available, we should at least get another 2 or 3 SEC quality guys. I think between our WRs and TEs, we will be good enough if our Oline gives Fitz and Aeris some chances to keep the chains moving. Especially if Fitz takes a big step forward with his decision making and accuracy.

This had it at 50th- and I cant argue really. 2017's schedule is much tougher
We had 4 OL's starters returning in 2014. Much different outlook this year

2013 team would have beaten 2016. Our defense in 13 was pretty good. The 2016 defense aint stopping Dak, JRob, Bear Wilson etc.

And Tyler Russell would have broken a passing record on the 2016 secondary.
