That's about as drama free a 9th inning as you are going to get with this bunch.

It took some grinding just to listen to that one until the end***

I saw a post on SPS about the 4-game weekends. I see some value to having one, maybe two of these to make sure you play a bunch of guys, but it seems like in past years we just counted on having deeper pitching than our opponents. Texas is the only other team I'm aware of that schedules so many 4-game weekends (although that may have been an Augie Garrido thing. Not sure what David Pierce thinks about them); however, when Texas schedules them, they frequently play 7-inning doubleheaders.

Any idea why we didn't try to play 7-inning games on Sunday after Saturday's rain-outs? We're seriously taxed going into the start of SEC play.

Luckily, all that matters is the W or L. It won't show up on the record that we really had to tough these out, which is certainly good for us.

I'm OK with 4 game weekends the first couple of weekends which we did. But when you are coming up the week before SEC play starts there is no way we should be doing them. The way it worked out we are going to have to pitch 27 innings of baseball on the Mon and Tues prior to SEC play starting on Friday. That is just not a good thing and would not have been a good thing even if things had played out according to the original schedule.
