Yep. It's obvious Cann believes mcnamee and Skelton are much better than results so far.

Because we aren't winning a national championship with this team so you have to develop. And those 2 guys along with a Blaylock have room to develop and be big players for us the next 2-3 years. They have to play.

Its what I've been trying to tell the melters. The kids with no experience have to get it somehow. No better time than now as we aren't going all the way. They have to separate themselves with their non-game work and earn their way to the lineup. Coaches will choose who to invest lineup time to for the guys they think are going to be long term contributors.

Why not play Skelton as the main guy? We know Lovelady is pretty good behind the plate but he's no star. And he's a dead out at the plate. Play the true freshman and endure the growing pains. Why play a guy that is beyond his ceiling already instead of a kid not close when a championship is not in the cards. Crazy as it sounds this is an opportunity to see what young guys are gonna be players and an opportunity for Cann to really see guys play meaningful innings very early on. Sucks we are in this spot but it's an opportunity to make a leap in our program for the next 2-3 years. Just have to understand we are where we are and use it, don't be pussies and cry about it.

McQuary strikes out side in top of 1st

Alexander doubles but is stranded at 2nd in the bottom of 1st (Mangum fly out, Luke double, Gridley groundout to P, Rooker groundout to 2B)

    0-0 after 1

Terrible call on the steal. Blaylock was in the box and not over the plate. Total horseshit.

    Macnamee single
    Bragg K
Blaylock K (interference on steal attempt, which was BS)

    0-0 after 2

2 runners stranded through 2 after being on with less than 2 outs. What's new

Yep, Blaylock was just finishing his swing. Did nothing at all to get in the way

Beating a dead horse: But we are going to be this Columbia pitcher's highlight performance in 2017. We are making him look like Clayton Kershaw out there. He locates, changes speed, and stays ahead of counts. But everyone seems to do that to us

True, never left the box and did nothing but finish his swinging motion

Huge k. That's how you pitch. Have to have a k there to get out of an inning like this.
