I don't want them weaseling out of worse sanctions at the last moment. If he resigns, OM will likely get a lesser sentence.

Let's say it is true... do they name an interim or try to get new HC?

No. It will not help them. Not even a little.

I don't disagree but the NOA's covers two different coaching staffs. They have proven to the NCAA that it doesn't matter who the coach is they are going to cheat their ass off. I don't think Freeze leaving is going to matter.

Yep, they're screwed. Freeze resigning would change nothing. They're in deep shit.

The NCAA likely realizes the relizes the issue is those bankrolling this operation. The coaches will just be the first trophies to go to the taxidermist.

New head coach. Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden aren't doing anything right now. I'm sure they would love to quit their TV/whatever else they are doing lifestyle to take over a dumpster fire in the SEC.

Eh, I don't think so. Unless....he knows he's getting a show cause and wouldn't get the money anyway.
This actually makes sense if the rumor is true that a story was going to break about Hugh having an affair by Monday.

I really don't know how they think they'll make a case against LOIC and failure to monitor. Literally half the staff was named in the NOA and hughinitis decided he would double dip.

Their 2017 season is essentially over already.

I guess you could look at it two ways- keep the guy because you're in too deep anyway and you're not going to be able to get someone worth a darn with unknown massive sanctions on the horizon. Or the other way to look at it is to fire Hugh and then start to try to move on likely with an interim or a guy like a Jim Grobe type.

The only way it helps them is it gets the short term Croom or Rick Ray type hire in there faster which means they can fire him sooner once the sanctions start winding to a close and move onto a real coach a year earlier. In their position, the only timeline to consider when making those types of decisions is what is best for the program 4-5 years down the road and onward, because they are absolutely screwed between now and that time no matter what. That is what makes this all so glorious.

Word I'm hearing now is that with Freeze's succcess, they may go the route of high school coach again. I'm hearing Freeze is stepping down and they are hiring some ex high school coach named Wooldridge. Word is that Yancy recommended him to the AD. Yancy claims the guy is some sort of football god. I guess we will see. That type of hire seems kinda random to me. You could find at least 34 better options if you tried.

I'll believe it when I see it, but if this article rumor were true (for his family's sake I hope it isn't) is there any facet of life in which Freeze doesn't cheat?

Yea, like they could get so lucky...**** What if they actually had a good coaching staff with all those blue chippers they paid for, and are about to pay handsomely for again? They may have reached #1 in the college football rankings, and in the first ever playoff rankings too. But they didn't...hahaha
You're blind if you can't see improvement.....Freshmens......Strain.....Kick rocks and pound sand......Drag my Yankee ass outta here!......
