I'm still not clear as to the benefit of sign and place if he was never going to be elidgeable. We waste a spot on a guy who will play at PRCC next year. I have never understood the sign and place

There is no downside to signing and placing him. We can sign up to 32, I think, this year and do not have roster spots for that many. If he makes it in, he is a great talent. If he does not, then he is "reserved" for us in two years if he continues to pan out.

Next year, there is a hard 25 signee limit. Then it will be a much tougher call.

Can someone explain to me why Murphy, Crumedy, and Johnson are all showing up as 4-stars right now on 247's top MS recruits, but only show up as 3-stars on our page?

One is the 247 ranking- 4 stars

The other is the composite ranking across all recruiting sites.

Murphy could play on offense potentially. We may play two as true freshman and then redshirt the other two if we wish.

4 safeties seems like a lot when we have 26 commits and still need 2 or 3 more offensive linemen, another WR, and could use a corner.

I’m not sure all 4 will be safeties, but even if they are cj morgan and Landon Guidry are the only safeties we have that aren’t upperclassmen. Need at least 3 to make up for the fact that we’re losing 4 in the next two years

If they are all SEC quality, then I'm all for it. But that could be a place we might look to make room. I'm just speculating though. I do hope we can sign Whop, Carvin, Bleich, and Nelson/Harris. We probably have a couple of other targets too.
