McDowell, Ross, Cumbest, and Robinson are our lowest rated guys and they all committed back in the summer. I'm not counting Gardner b/c he's from Starkville.
We think Patterson is a no go due to grades. And there's another kid or two who are iffy on grades.
Need to sign Mason, Whop, a Juco Corner, and 3 more offensive linemen. So probably need to process 2 more commits.

I don't think we need a JUCO corner. We can go with Peters and Dantzler and will be in decent shape.

I'm guessing Morgan is a "numbers" move.

2 weeks ago, I would have said yes, but I read recently he may get a ratings bump. Apparently he is having a good senior year.

If we get Mason, that's 3 safety commits + Marcus Murphy who could play S. I would look to the lowest rated S.

Murphy might play on offense.

Robinson will be a stud here.

Agree. To me it needs to be Savion Smith for it to be a take for me.

Cole is probably moving back to S. We only have 2 corners back and neither are necessarily proven. Need 4 good corners on the roster. Antonio Nelson is very good.

The biggest downside on Nelson is wouldn't be here til the summer. Not being here for spring ball makes him less valuable.

despite that downside, are we still keeping the offer on the table or are we / him looking for options? do we have a history of signing jucos not ready for spring ball? that does seem to be a downside all things considered.

Darius Slay missed the spring.

Cole may have a shot at CB. But he will get reps no matter where he ends up S or CB. Would have gotten them this year if not for having to red shirt.

The game has changed. It's more important for your safeties to have coverage ability than it is for them to be head hunters. Cole has moved to corner to improve his coverage skills. Only way he stays at Corner is if we don't have good depth there.

Also won't be surprised to see Cole playing the JT Gray role next year either.

Do we think that Whop and Harris are a package deal?

No. I think they'd love to play together but it's not a must.
