Bingo! Agree with everything you said!

Did that guy seriously put CJ Johnson in the same sentence with Chris Jones and Jeffrey Simmons? LOL. Two are in the NFL. One is hanging out with Lane Kiffen or beating the bush on the Mississippi JUCO circuit.

Looking at bama recruiting page, looks like they currently have 2 CB commits. They have 3 5-Star guys, a high 4-star, and smith on prospect list. According to CBs, they are not the favorite for any of them. What you guys say is the % smith gets an Alabama offer?

According to what you posted he's the last man on the totem pole. They'll string him along in the event they don't get the number of corners they want then go after him. Saban will play it up until signing day too. If they get the guys they want Smith will never hear from Saban again. He's that ruthless.

It’s absurd that Bama can do this in recruiting.
When one team has this type of power and control over recruiting, the rest of us are literally just playing for second place.

And everybody here would do the same thing if you were in his situation, if you were smart.

No he's fine. He's just a normal weight & not trying to pack all that weight on to play DE in the SEC.

Cool. You can tell he's lost weight after playing. I'm accustomed to that. He looks funny

I know how recruiting goes. Take your sermon elsewhere Sherlock. I was referring to if they got the commits they wanted today Saban would totally ignore this kid with no explanation at all after stringing him along.

ESPN and Rivals still have a recruit listed that hasn't been in the class in months. ESPN is the worst though with their top MS rankings.

You've got to give Saban credit. Apparently he doesn't cheat-at least nobody says he does or caught him at it. Like he told Mal Moore when he hired him, "you may not have hired the best football coach, but nobody will beat me recruiting." He apparently works his tail off recruiting. Alabama wasn't nearly this successful before Saban arrived on the scene. I knew we were in trouble when he was hired. It's all Rich Rodriquez fault for not taking the job when they offered it to him.

I’ve given him so much credit that my cup runneth empty of any more credit to give

He does what it takes to get elite players like everyone else. I think there was something on Bleacher Report it SDS or something showing recruits over the past 5 years or so with their instagram pics of their new rides.
He did what he needed to do to get the talent back up and then when he won you had the rings to help so you played the game but didn?t go overboard.
But to start he knew you win big mostly by having better players than your opponent.
OM tried basically the same strategy but just went a little too far with it. If you can do it and not get caught the plan works.
You never know how things would have worked out but what if we had gotten Cam or enticed AJ to stay around and there were probably a few other impact guys we might have had a shot over the years. Mullen was just conservative with it and for the most part we?ve still been pretty good.

I think having AJ would have made an astronomical difference to our team. Would have opened us up a lot more and changed our effectiveness in the pass game entirely.
But in the end, it all comes down to secondary play. That’s the reason we lose to big teams. Until we are able to recruit the back end of our defense better, we will remain a max 8-10 win team. We have recruited the front 7 about as well as could be expected. But ultimately we lose because we can’t stop teams consistently through the air. You can point to numerous times in our 4 losses where our secondary lost the big battles.
Offense is usually not going to be our issue. We’ve proven that even with the worst WR core in the conference that we can go out and win 9 games in a year where we played the two teams in the national title game. But if we are truly going to be elite, we have to add to what we are doing in recruiting by going all in to shore up our secondary.
That’s why I feel Eddie Smith is potentially the most important recruit in this class.

AJ, Cam, and Jaylen Smith all would have been huge for us this year. Lashley, Charles, and Womack would have helped our offensive line as well. We've had way too many misses on the offensive side of the ball.
Our problem is we can't get over the hump against elite SEC teams. I think a lot of it is because when we play those teams we lack explosiveness on the offensive side in terms of playmakers. We were no threat to stretch Alabama vertically. Had we done that we would have run the ball even better than we did against them.
