The sales tax isn't bad as long as you still have free shipping.

If it is used correctly, I don't mind. You really can't beat the convenience and the variety. I do most of my shopping on Amazon. Would hate to decide to stop using it because of this.

Already have this in Alabama. If I understand what I am seeing correctly, you are only taxed on items that say "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com".

Looks like they are doing this to really push their new Prime credit card with 5% cash back on everything you purchase on Amazon.

NC tax law requires everyone to pay sales tax on any items purchased online, regardless of where it originates. Amazon doing this helps to comply with the relatively new state law. Any items one purchases and does not pay taxes on immediately has to list when they file state taxes and it goes into the refund/payment calculation. Did MS pass a similar law?

Other than maintaining roads and bridges, which are already funded elsewhere, what does the State of Mississippi bring to the table when you buy something from Amazon?

If I thought Jackson could fix its horrible roads with some of this money, I might go for it. As it is, it's just more insatiable government siphoning.
