    150.3/8" Buck

My wife shot her first Buck late yesterday. I wish I knew how to post picture but I'm not a computer guru. He weighed 201lbs. First Buck and it scores 150 3/8, unreal! I also shot a 18 3/4 wide, 211 lb 8 point. Great memories but a ton of hard work loading and cleaning.

Yeah, what county? I hunt Covington and Lawrence counties. They ain't even thinking of chasing yet. Just had a few scrapes start popping up. Sound like your area is in the rut.

South Holmes, had another Buck with him, I laughed when she told me the other one was big also but not quite the size. I was 230 yards away and I saw the kill shot with my binoculars, he dropped in his tracks. About 5 minutes she texted and ask was it ok and go see. I told her no there was 15 more minutes to shoot. Then I looked to my left and this 8 point walked out of the woods not quite on food plot 165 yards away. I dropped him in his tracks as well. Oh her deer was 11 points, 4 years old, my 8 was 5 years old but nothing close to her giant. Only her 3rd deer but 1st Buck. It was an awesome hunt to say the least. Not chasing but I did watch a spike watching a doe feed for 25 minutes and he never moved, kept his eyes clued on the doe. He was definitely in love but she wasn't. Lol

LOL, i catch your drift, we don't sit together and she has only been hunting for about 4 years. She has killed 2 does and this giant.

She can't take the cold and doesn't go too much.

Yesterday was a good day to be in the woods. Several big deer dropped in western half of the state.

Thanks for posting wewillscrewitup, my wife would kill me if she saw this on ED without makeup.

P.S. I wish the managers for ED would change the picture thingy, there or way more easier ways to post pictures.

Actually they aged 5 and 6 years old. The 8 pt was 6, I know genitics and nutrition play the major points on antler growth and body size. But I wonder if this 8 pt wasn't injured one time at a younger age. He weighed 211 lbs with a wide rack and ok main beam length.

Base, I'm prolly not as learned as you on aging em, but my guess would be that the 8 pointer was just old/headed down hill (6.5 is an old deer in my book),,,, not injured.... good one, regardless...

Oh, and tell your wife "nice rack", for me.....******************************************* ************************************

LOL Tusk, I would tell her but like I said if she saw her picture w/o make up I might be outside with the dog Bear and the cat Tiger. I had my my taxidermy guy age them. Great memory indeed, she hasn't shot her rifle more than 10 times total.
I'm just a good guide, lol
