OT- favorite BBQ rubs
I've smoked a few Boston butts and have really enjoyed it. I've tried Sweet O Mine (it was good) but would like to hear some other options.

I make my own using Brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, dry mustard, creole seasoning, onion powder, lemon pepper, and a hint of chili powder.

Commercial -go with McCormick Southern Pit BBQ. Easy to find, cheap, and does what is supposed to do on a butt - make a nice bark.
If you want to go savory, for country style ribs and fatty chops, go with this one, it's the best I have found:

For pork I really like an old school rub called 3 eyez...for chicken I really like cavenders greek seasoning or the rub from shapeleys in ridge land......for beef its salt, garlic and I really like the rub from elys restaurant in ridgeland.....you can find both ely’s and shapely’s rubs from the everyday gourmet on county line rd in jackson.

That's about like mine except add paprika. Probably more for color than anything

Not for color. Paprika is key.
