Weekend Cooking & Drinking Thread: We Believe Edition

Threw a flank steak in a zip lock last night with salt, pepper, minced garlic, onions, mined jalape?o, cilantro, and olive oil. Grilling for late lunch. Pics later

    Marinating in the bag

Melted Cilantro butter for the rest

Pulled from grill, sauced, wrapped, and resting

Post rest, ready to thin slice

    Finished product

Flank stank, in my opinion, is one of the best pieces of beef out there for the money. Great value cut and you can have fun dressing it up

Love everything except cilantro. Never have been a fan for some reason. Steak looks awesome though!

Started with a little Michters and water. First tried it last weekend and really enjoy. I will definitely be buying again.

Now trying a Rogue 7 Hop IPA from a pick 6 at a local store that is slam packed with good beers. This is also pretty good.

That Michters has my attention. Never heard of it. I'll keep an eye out.

Woodford is my go-to bourbon and they are very similar to me. I think it was about $45/bottle.

Just poured my last GITM. As you can tell by the torn up label, it's been in the cooler a few times and I couldn't bring myself to drink the last one. If you like IPAs, this one is tough to beat.

Just threw a bunch of stuff in the crock pot; slow cooked chilli. Beef, onions, bells, chipotles, beens, and seasoning.

Good to know someone else doesn't frown on beans in chili

For chilli that will be used as a topper for hot dogs, burgers, or fries, I don't like beans. For stand alone chili in a bowl, gotta have em. I'm doing Mexican cornbread muffins but with a little twist. I bought some smoked chipotle peppers and I'm using that and sweet corn instead of raw japs. I diced and washed them to get all the seeds out. My goal is the smokey pepper flavor more than heat. We'll see how it turns out.

Football setup outside, good bourbon and just threw some deer sausage on the grill. I'll put on some "cajun seasoned" chicken breasts that I picked up last minute today in a bit.

Windy cool day on the coast. Made a shrimp, crab, & corn chowder. Fresh shrimp and crab are the key

I have started keeping the drinking simple as of late. Either Makers or JD single barrel.
