2 or 3 years to teach winning effort?
Someone please explain/justify to me what Mullen meant by that? Effort is part of the culture of a program, if you don't have that as part of everything everyday then you are screwed. It has to be a daily expectation. If a kid doesn't have it by the end of year 1, then you've got the wrong kind of kid, bad culture, terrible coaching, or all 3.

Just another excuse to blame the players instead of the great football god he makes himself out to be...

Pass all the credit to the players....take all the blame. Mullen you never do this. Effort is demanded from day 1 and never wavers. If the HC isn't doing it how can the rest of the program do it.

This means the players are playing with just as much STRAIN as there Head Coach is putting into game planning and giving a 17. That's it nothing much..

WHats your point? None of them are coaches and have nothing to do with the product on the field. Get off of Mullen's nuts MEAGAN

If it takes 2 or 3 years, then our playbook is a lot more complicated and sophisticated than say AL's is. It could be a coaching philosophy too.
