    2016-17 bow season

Bow season opens tomorrow. Anybody going to be hunting this weekend? Nice to have a good cool snap roll around for the opener. Any success stories throw them up.

I've decided that I'm going. I shot my crossbow 10-12 times...it's ready. Post your story/harvest when you can BB30, good luck!

Went both mornings over the weekend. Saw a doe Saturday morning and swatted mosquitoes Sunday.

saw two does Saturday afternoon. The Delta is D-R-Y. the soybean field i was sitting on was not supposed to turn brown for another 3 weeks, but it is dried up and brown already. Now, i need rain for the food plots to come up, and a little more after they do so they can make it. The ground is just too dry.

Shot a Doe Sunday evening. Had 6 (1 big doe,2 fawns, 2 young doe, small 5 point) at one time under my stand. Getting a shot off with 6 sets of eyes at 15/20 yards is always a blast.

That's what keeps you going back! Nothing like feeling your heart beating out of your chest.

Killed her last sunday and forgot to post. 115 lbs which is a decent size doe around where i live. About a 25 or so yard shot.

    Mathews Riesen
    65 lb pull
    Easton carbon arrows
    Rage Hypodermic 100 grain

If you look at the picture, you can see the damage that broadhead does. She was quartering away from me so it went in on the other side of her and exited the shoulder that you see in the picture. She ran about 40 yards and piled up.

I absolutely love that broadhead/arrow combo i have going.

Any more success stories? I have had does looking back I should have killed. I have been basically hunting one deer when the wind is right for him. Have seen him twice, had him at 25 yds opening day and he stopped right where I couldn't get a shot and dropped down into a steep creek. It is like he had a sixth sense guess that is part of it. I have now been out the last few times intending on killing a doe and wouldn't you know it the opportunity has not presented itself. Saw a bunch of deer this past weekend with that cold front, just never really got a shot I wanted to take. And yes, in the same boat on food plots, fortunately there has been no germination yet so should be good for another couple of weeks unless the turkeys and birds eat everything up.

I've killed a few does. I have some pics of a couple decent bucks that would be good bow kills. I'll try and post some pics
