Weekend Cooking & Drinking Thread: SC Week Edition

It's do or die for MSU football this weekend. I'll be glued to the tube. I'll kick it off early but I'm cheating. Last night I seared some red snapper. Topped with a lemon butter sauce. Added some saut?ed peppers.

Had some friends in town from Valdosta who were craving oysters, so we went to the Half Shell on SSI.

I had a great crab bisque and "Cajun oysters" - bacon, Asiago and some kind of remoulade. Had a Harpon UFO to wash them down.

The W Girl had a whole red snapper fried with grits and slaw

A little pre-game chicken and boudin. Had to re-arrange the tv, so I could still see little man playing in his sand box. We're both happy now.

Funny story. My bourbon ice tray was empty and my fridge is permanently stuck on crushed ice. My "on the rocks" is closer to splash of water tonight.

Big weekend here. First dad/daughter dove hunt. Wish they flew a bit better and dad was a better shot, but we had a great time and hopefully she learned a lot. We used Hank Shaw's grilled dove a La Mancha recipe, and it is legit.

Great picture, Snapper. Bet you had fun. In my day I could shoot up three boxes of shells and pocket a hand full of birds. Think my barrel was bent.
