The issue with Title IX has always been that the 85 scholarships from football shouldn't be part of the equation. It is the lifeblood and money maker for each and every school. So why should male athletes suffer because of the imbalance it creates in total scholarship numbers?
Set the 85 for football aside, then divvy out the rest equally among men's/women's sports.
The feminists (and Greg Sankey) would crucify you.
