    A. J. Brown taken by Padres in the 19th round

? ? ? If he signs does he have to give back his "signing bonus" to UNM ?

The San Diego Padres drafted wide receiver and outfielder A.J. Brown in the 19th round. The true freshman has already enrolled at Ole Miss, where he plans to play baseball and football. If he signed with the Padres, he'd still be eligible to play football for the Rebels but not baseball. The four-star football signee was ranked the No. 5 wide receiver and No 38 player overall, according to 247Sports' Composite Rating.

Now you are just being silly, it was only 250k.*

ETA: Why couldn't he take the money and run? It's not like they can tell on him for not sticking to the deal.

He should play baseball since OM is about to get murdered by the NCAA. He can always come back to college and play WR if baseball doesn't work out. Plus, he would probably be more physically and mentally mature by then.

he only got a little to sign- the payments from Miller and crew don't start until he is on campus. If he can trick the Padres into giving him a decent bonus- you never know. But I think it's highly unlikely

Golsen's dumbass turned down 1 million from the Red Sox to go back to Ole Miss and go thru 2 a days as a true freshman.

    Brown at 19? Ha!
Not only did Mississippi State embarrass LSU on this night. Davis Wade Stadium wrecked Tiger Stadium in music choice, atmosphere and, most of all, volume.
