Dan Wolken made a spectacular point on Garry Parrish's show today...

That I haven't seen discussed...if Freeze told anyone from the NCAA anything throughout this process that is contradicted by his testimony in a deposition, he just lied to the NCAA, and that's automatic Bruce Pearl/Donnie Tyndall-treatment (and probably closer to Tyndall treatment, considering the massive nature of this investigation). That precedent has been set, and the NCAA has not deviated one bit on that

One thing for sure the Tunsil being given money from coaches is new and not part of the 1st NOA because if it was Ole Miss would not be looking into as of now and they would have come out and said it was already looked into and if the nCAA asked any of the coaches was money given to athletes and they said no there are probably several who lied and have been busted.

    They are in deep shit.

I think any one of us could find a dozen obvious lies from Ole miss and their media lapdogs.

They know they cannot stand any real scrutiny. The only variable is how bad the NCAA wants to blast them

It's not just Freeze. It's every member of the athletic department, administration, players and boosters that are in this jeopardy. In year's past, save for Albert Means, the amounts of cash documented were relatively small. If the NCAA has unearthed larger sums of cash then there are legal/revenue implications as well. Not that lying to the NCAA would constitute a crime, but if their lies cover the transfer of funds that evade the IRS or exploit a charitably donation statute then there are other issues.

Regardless of whether they find a blatant lie, he just publicly said that he didn't want the NCAA to get information that could hurt him. That is basically the definition of a lack of cooperation. If you are admitting that there may be information out there that could hurt you that they don't know about, and you're purposefully trying to withhold that information, that seems like the same thing as lying, as far as the NCAA is concerned.

Smoot hit the nail on the head. Freeze's petition to the judge to seal the deposition so that the NCAA can't get its hands on it is going to be the final nail.

The statement itself doesn't prove anything, but the NCAA can certainly use it as aggravating circumstances in the penalty phase - it's a direct admission of lack of cooperation.

You have to believe if the NCAA has interviewed Bucky then they asked has his program paid recruits. If he said no then draft night is his last nail in the coffin.

To add further to Smoot's point, what if the NCAA requested that the deposition transcripts be handed over and Freeze et al refused?

Ole Miss is baiting the NCAA to go overboard trying to get that deposition.

The NCAA did that to Miami when they illegally got a copy of it through a back channel. The NCAA pretty much threw their own case out afterwards.

Couldn't be more critical to the future of the NCAA: if they let it go, they're done. If they over reach too much, they're done. Sanctions will take a while, but Freeze will be fired for cause this year. The house is officially burning.

Seems to me that it is a high probability that anything he says in the deposition would contradict something he told the NCAA already.
