Do we have a home field advantage anymore?

Over the last few years, I've seen team after team come into DNF and play inspired baseball in front of the most fans they have ever seen while our guys look scared, tight, bored, or dead. We should have a significant advantage that could help us win games, but it doesn't. It's pretty sad.

Nope, because the fans have become apathetic. You know how you can watch a team and tell whether or not to be optimistic about the future? How you can tell if the players are putting in 100%, or if the team doesn't continue to do the same dumb $#!t over and over? Like Howland and the basketball team...there's optimism there. You can tell things are headed in the right direction.

Not so in baseball. You'd think after a tourney win and a deep CWS run a baseball coach would build off of that and have a competitive team. Cohen has somehow managed to do the opposite. I'm seeing nothing from the baseball team to indicate things will be OK soon, therefore the fans have no reason to get excited, even if they are in the stands. I'm concerned that Scott won't manage things correctly either.

Well, today was pretty depressing. The numbers were good, but there was never much enthusiasm. Everyone seemed to be waiting for a reason to be excited.

Rick Ray did Strick in. He no longer has the authority to hire or fire anymore without counsel. He wont make the decision to retain Cohen alone, he wont make the decision to fire Cohen alone, and he wont make the decision to hire the next baseball coach alone.

Well the folks that stay out in the OF just come for the socializing so its not as big a deal for them what kind of team we have. The folks that are in the main grandstands are more there for the actual game. It will fill back up quickly if we can get a high quality team back on the field.

It very much seems we wasted a golden opportunity. Very similar to football not building off of being #1 except in baseball we are one of the big boys.

Ha geez. We have a coaching disadvantage. The fans aren't the issue. Cohen isn't the man for the job as hard as it is to say. Look at his record, especially in the sec. He's a loser and he is in over his head. We had one fluke year with him. Unless a change is made we will have no excitement with a new stadium being built. This is a complete disaster. I'm so damn pissed.

Bull shit. Most of the students do care about baseball and its one of their favorite times of the year. Its just they are all in the outfield. No students, except for a few, are going to sit in the chairbacks when they could be in the outfield drinking beer and hitting on women.

Somewhat similar to the folks that come to the Grove but never go into the football game. Just so happens our big social event is going on during the game so they are there but a large percentage are barely paying attention to the actual game.

Having the wisdom of outside counsel should be construed as a good thing, even better than receiving a notice of allegations in Oxford. The decision on who should coach MS baseball is important, and I like many others here wouldn't trust Grasshopper anyway, even if it weren't for the completely inexplicable, unforgivable Rickray hire.
