Not brand new. They've had a team for a while just played at lower levels. They DO have great financial backing in That area of TX. Great oil money

Just enough time for Freeze to get booted, roll over there, and pull in 3 top 10 classes. I'm sure Abeline Christian is a beautiful place that sells itself.

Would rather play Jackson State than Abilene Christian at least you get the Sonic Boom with them. Still hoping we sign a 20 year home and home with Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Wake Forest, or Colorado for our power 5 games.

I wouldn't say so. We get points for being an SEC school willing to play them. TAMU literally plays them the next season....we've played all of the smaller schools in Mississippi, so no one can bitch at us for not playing them.

I know we have Abilene Christian and K-State that year for sure

Maybe an easier game since we have the P5 game

Not really much different than playing South Alabama. ACU plays Baylor the year before us and TAMU the year after.

How is it any different than scheduling Alcorn, Wofford, Prairie View, Chattanooga, Mercer, etc? All teams that our SEC West counterparts play in the next 2 seasons. The West play 3 SWAC teams this year & MSU isn't an opponent. There's nothing wrong with this game.

I'm in this boat too. I'd like to play Valley since we haven't played them before. And I'd like to see how Hughes gets Jackson State up and running.

The days of losing to the "Maine's" of the world are long gone. We need to not visit that thought ever again.
