We still have the playoffs though... What's everyone have on tap for the weekend? I'll be grilling Saturday so should have some fun pics.

Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter IPA. This has gotten to be a "in the rotation" beer.

Not much cooking or drinking here. Spent the weekend on the Coast w the fam, and left the tiny girl there with my folks - so me and the wife are heading to Cotton Row here in HSV tonight. Me and jbjones spent the end of the week hunting....he currently has about 300 lbs of dead hogs on the ground right now, so we should be flush with sausages for the next year!

Dad hit the marsh today and got some whiting and a couple of red drum. So we had a fish fry.

We drinkin beer so give me a break about cowboy ribeye and coleslaw. A baked potatoe would have put me down for the count.

I tried a "stove-top" sous vide method for a 14oz NY strip for the lady friend and me. It turned out really well. Basically, you put your steak in a vacuum sealed bag, and submerge it in water at a very low temp, and let it slowly reach that temp (ca. 120-25). You then take it out, then do a quick sear to get that outside crust, but what you're left with is a very evenly cooked steak on the inside.

Simple clean flavors, Chicken breasts roasted in the oven with fresh cracked salt and pepper. Tomato, steamed broccoli and a sweet potato with coconut oil instead of butter.
