This is absolutely not our ceiling. I'm not freaking out like several on here, but this makes me more mad than anything they've said. Last year was the most exciting season I've ever been a part of. This season seems like a step back so far, but if we win out, plus a bowl win, this season will be better (it won't feel like it, but it will be), or at least as good. We'll probably take a dip next year, and then back up. That's been the trend, and overall we're improving. The improvements will get slower, but I see absolutely zero evidence that 9 games after our best season under Mullen that you can declare that it's over. That was it. 9 games later we finally realized that we could never be better, ever again.*

It wouldn't surprise me if dan said f this and left after this year. To us, yeah last night sucked but still outside perception is dan has done a great job at MSU. Do I think he leaves this year? Don't know but timing would be about right. Regardless, if he does we are in a much better place. The only issue is look at all the competition we would have with all the openings. I would hope we go after a hc and not an asst. Just my thoughts

I got drunk and slept on it. We still suck and so does LSU. We need better talent. We went into that game one dimensional. To beat Alabama, you have to be lucky or great at every position.

It's possible. He has to be thinking this might be as good as it's going to get being in the west division. But he still might not be what the 'higher' profile programs want either. Would he jump ship for a middle tier program like VT that might pay similar money? I doubt it, but if he really wanted a change....who knows.
