Scholarship money information....
Can someone tell me where to look for scholarship money available at Msu? I have Impact for my daughter who will be enrolling next year at Msu but I would like to find extra money available but I have no clue where to look or find what is available. Guidance counselors in schools today or no help, or very little help with this, I know ED folks will be more helpful!

Departmental scholarships helped me out big time. Some have more than others. Also, if you go to the Admissions office (or call), they can give you good information that isn't always easy to find. Very helpful people.

Thanks a lot, I figured the admission office could tell me more, she says she wants to be a nurse. I've heard for many years money is available you just have to go find it.

I don't know where you're from but the Central MS Alumni Assoc gives scholarship money to some students.

Went through that with my son, complete with an unhelpful guidance counselor. We had to do it all ourselves. MSU's scholarship process can be started online. All of them are handled through that one application, which I think is actually the admission application. It's on MSU's website. The deadline for scholarship consideration is December 1st. Get started on it NOW if you have an unhelpful counselor who has to be walked through the process.

Link to MSU's scholarship process is here. http://www.admissions.msstate.edu/fr.../#scholarships That spells it out. It covers all scholarships handled through the university.

Also try fastweb.com There is a lot listed there from all over but sometimes you can find specific fields of study. Also you might check local civic clubs-they sometimes give scholarships.

Yo brother was so convinced back in the "Emory The Memory Days", to bet bet the house that we would beat Florida at home cause Emory went on record at a booster club meeting that we would win the SEC his last year! So, he and I bet the house and of course we lost, so money has been long gone! Ha!
P.S. He was smoking heavy as I was drinking heavy during the game, I went to the bathroom right before the second half started, game I believe was tied and we were playing lights out. As I was walking back to my seat, the crowd had the OH Sh@t sound, I look up and it's 21-14 Gators with 14:48 left in the 3rd quarter. I ask what happened and his reply "well I just saw my house and his house being taken away with a streaking fast Gator holding the titles"!
