it's not on the prohibited items list, but I went ahead and made a submission for TSA to consider "cowbells."

you can do the same at: http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-informat...ohibited-items

I'm hoping to not check a bag and save time/money, but don't want some Jake leg taking my cowbell either.

I've only had issues with a larger bell. My smaller cow bells are not a prob. They always ask what it is and used for tho. I'd call security just to check. Hail

We checked the tsa website and found nothing on the prohibited items list and the search didn't find anything for "cowbell" or "bell".

Ross Bjork said if you see a cowbell on a plane text him the flight number, aisle, and seat number.

we're just messing with you man. if you board via a commercial airport, you're going through security and they check all bags via x-ray and will open them to search further if needed.

All checked bags and carry on bags are screened. There are no exceptions. Most are not opened and so you may not see that they have been screened.

You have to hide it, kinda like a shank in prison. I suggest the small bell and KY gel!
