He's a few lbs lighter than BMac so why wouldn't he stay at LB?

I hope with the bowl and spring practices we give green a look at de and lb. Whichever spot he helps this team the most, play him there

    That's what I was wondering.

People just looking at pictures and declaring he's "big" so he must move to DE. It makes no sense.

Yes, hopefully our new d-coordinator will want to get some speed off the edge. Green was wanted by a lot of schools, including OM, as a DE.

I know, our fans amaze me at times. If a guy is 6 feet tall and 190+, we need to beef em up and make em a linebacker. If a guy is heavier than 230, we need to beef em up and make em a DE. If a QB is 6'5 and 215+, we need to make em a TE. If a WR is over 200 lbs, we need to beef em up and make em a TE.

The reason BMac is a freak, is because he has rare size and speed at LB. Why try to make an average DE out of a stud Linebacker?

Not saying Homedawg was saying that....but I have seen several mentions of players moving from the position they're great at simply because they don't have the same build as most people that play that position. I think Homedawg was just making a comment about his size...but Green is not a biscuit shy of a lineman, he's just a beast of a linebacker.

Correct. Thanks for clearing it up for me. I wasn't very clear. We need him to be a great linebacker, I'm not endorsing a change.

Personally, I love the idea of being huge defensively. The bigger a guy can play a position at, the better...

If it doesn't come at the expense of team speed

You know someone else who thought that way? Jimmy Johnson And he won 2 Super Bowls with Cowboys doing the exact same thing.

Most people aren't freaks like bmac. It's reasonable to wonder whether somebody that big is quick enough to play lb.

Personally, anybody that big and that fast I'd want to at least try at de, just bc a great de is a bigger game changer than a great middle lb, and well typically be deeper at lb than de.

Prototypical LB- sized. 6'4 240-245. He looks a tad bit shorter than BMac, but maybe a little thicker.
